Not only did we read it [‘While I Can Still Remember’], when we got to Kauai we were stunned to find whole forests of the damned things. I listened carefully but never heard one of them actually talk, though I’m pretty sure they did as soon as we left the area! A lovely book and an exceptionally creative approach!

My mum hasn't been reading at all due to cognitive decline post-stroke and she has macular degeneration as well. But she's picked up ‘Beneath My Skin’ now and is loving it! So thank you so much - you got her reading again. She's having a gentle laugh along with June, she tells me. She's keen on reading more. I have ‘Fugue’ so will take that with me when I next visit her. I'll see how she goes, but reckon ‘Shattered Reflections’ might be next.

I love that a book [‘Shattered Reflections’] can make me suck in my breath, yours did.

What Now?
Lyn’s latest book, Beneath My Skin seeped into her head as she observed her fellow passengers on a suburban train bound for Melbourne’s CBD. Imagination’s a powerful tool when the visual triggers a response in the mind and heart. And, so, June Cooper was created.
Look for Beneath My Skin at all major online bookstores for the print version. The eBook is also available at online bookstores. In the meantime, feel free to get in touch, ask Lyn questions about anything to do with writing, her books and what makes it matter – to you and to her. Check out her books on Goodreads; browse and like her author Facebook page. She’d love to hear from you! |

While I Can Still RememberLone Pine, a 650 year-old Norfolk Island pine, stands on a limestone cliff on Norfolk Island. At the base of its trunk a sapling – Piali – clings to the cliff as fierce storms threaten to destroy it.
The island is waiting for Piali to grow strong enough to take over from Lone Pine, so the sapling’s survival is vital. The old tree has been the receptacle of the island’s stories and these must be passed on to its successor so that the species will remain intact. But Lone Pine’s memory is fading and time is running out. |
Shattered ReflectionsTaking us across the vast expanse of Australia and spanning four decades, Shattered Reflections tells of the power of true friendship and courageous women determined to overcome tragedy and deception. And it tells of the obsessive love of a man driven to any lengths to protect his family. But how much is he willing to sacrifice to escape from a past that won’t let go? |
FugueFugue is a love story that takes the reader through the nightmares and emotions of a young woman who seems to have everything but who, in fact, has nothing. Her childhood was one of rejection and loneliness, and walls that allow nothing or no one else in surround her adult life. Her icy façade is impenetrable until she meets a musician who disturbs the cobwebs of the past. Finally she is forced to face her demons and allow love to soften her pain. |
Beneath My SkinCan you imagine being brought up by a mother who can’t stand you and having a brother and sister who sneer every time they look at you? Can you imagine wearing the same outfit for 40 years? Can you imagine being in the same job, eating the same pizza, living in the same flat for more than 40 years? Can you imagine reading every Mills & Boon book ever published? That’s June Cooper. Come and get to know her. It’s worth the effort. |
